Through their site, ieshow.us, viewers can contribute to the show by answering questions, submitting video, reviews, and more! A cool way to connect to that hard to reach demo of gamers who stay active with the show. The 8th Annual 2010 Visual Effects Society Awards Gala will be held on February 28, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. Homerun Entertainment will produce the hour-long special, "The 2010 Visual Effects Awards Show," with a broadcast window beginning on Tuesday, March 2 - allowing broadcasters to air the special in the week prior to the Academy Awards coverage, with the Oscars airing live on Sunday, March 7. It is a great kicker for award show week!

"The 2010 Visual Effects Awards Show" will highlight the best of the star-studded VES awards show gala, plus offer plenty of behind-the-scenes action from the best effects from the year's top films. The show will be packed with the most jaw-dropping clips of the year's top monsters, explosions, crashes, stunts and animated characters - with plenty of "How'd they do that?" explanations of how these effects were created. 

VES Awards will be given out in 21 categories, covering the best in visual effects in the worlds of Film, Television, Video Games, Music Videos and Special Venue projects. Nominees for awards show will be announced in January, 2010, but it promises to be a blockbuster affair with such films as "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," "Terminator Salvation," "Star Trek," "X-Men: Origins" and "Up".

There will also be 2 honorees saluted for their impact on the visual effects world. Past honorees have included George Lucas, Steven Speilberg and John Lassiter. This year's honorees will be announced soon.

With the award show taping Feb. 28th, the edited master will be sent via satellite at 8pm Los Angeles time March 2nd. By Feb. 1st. Homerun will provide 15, 30 and 60 second promo spots for publicity.

Among the films highlighted in last year's broadcast were "Dark Knight," "Iron Man," "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "Bolt," "Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian," "Hellboy II," "Quantum of Solace," "Changeling," and "Wall-E."
